I have some guesses....

In the old days non-citizens and their citizen spouses used to have periodic interviews with INS. They were asked a lot of questions about their intimate lives. I was never interviewed by them during my short marriage to my children's father, but friends of his and mine underwent these grillings.

Certain behaviors in the bed-room are forbidden for Muslims. So sometimes one partner would admit to the behavior and the other partner would deny it out of embarrassment.

So a few ladies took me aside and warned me never to lie about things like that to the INS. He already knew about it because he had a false marriage before. He paid a woman a grand or so, married her and they got together to discuss their fictional love life on a regular basis. He quite literally did not know what to do with me when we married! I had to TELL him!

Good thing I'd read 'Our Bodies Ourselves'! Good thing my mother was so informative!

¿¡Ma Daj??!

I had not realized that this painter died within my life-time. That is damned interesting.

This is therefore modern...

Included for irony on this date...

You all know the rest.

This is sad and she's not alone:

Many of this woman's health issues related to what she suffered in the war.

I hope there is a serious verdict against the jail.

Latinos have suffered the same way with immigration holds.

It's hot here today. I have my grand-children. Their usual sitter gave birth yesterday to a lovely little girl.

So we are flaked out under two small fans and one big one. I am glad I did not get rid of cable TV after all!

They would be soooo bored.

My grandson is now interested in mining and mines. Rud i rudari, not the mine i paže mine radi crvena magla kind.

So I showed him pictures of the miners in West Virginia and about the Battle of Mlair Mountain and about children who were miners.

He has a toy hard hat and has appropriated his father's retro black dinner bucket. He talks about beams. It's so adorable!

I did advise him he could go to college and learn how to be a mine engineer, it a well paid line of work. His father is a civil engineer. So engineering is familiar. He saw his father doing the stacks of homework.

He drew a good diagram of beams too.

I read of this place before and of course was horrified:

I had a nice day today. Mr. T. And I spend most of our time together. But today, I went elsewhere with a friend of ours.

He was supposed to rest. He must not have been able to rest, he took a walk.

We went to that friend's house. Mr. T can't be around incense. These folks have a cat, and that usually means at some point you have to use incense.

So the evening broke up a little early :(

Well maybe we'll have them here or to my place.

We tended the garden as usual. It is doing nicely! There are some new tiny green Nuba on a few strawberries. If they don't fruit any more I will understand. That one fruit was their way of saying 'Thank You!'

It was tiny and delicious. Mr. T. is super tired. He needs to just be left be.
