Srebenica:

New research;

This should disgust all decent people in both the UK and the US.
It certainly disgusts me.
The anniversary is July 11.
During my stay in Sarajevo, I met one of the more noted survivors, a woman who lost her son and her husband in the most horrible fashion. We regularly used the same bus stop.
I happen to have bad ankles. When I first met her, although she is certainly older than I am, she could see I was in pain, and made me take her seat.
I met others who survived, the people who ran the small Internet cafe I went to lost family there.
Srebenica feels very personal to me, even after all these years.
To think my country turned it's back so coldly on these people makes me feel the deepest shame.
