Yes House Bill passes!
By 219 votes. so now they have to vote on the Senate bill. it is a win though. 33 nays.

It has to be seen how it works out in practice. But a defeat would have had wider consequences.

Well for the time being, most of what will take effect won't take effect until 2014, but right away it is going to help the uninsured. I was hoping so much there would be a single payer plan, but I guess American politicians just did not feel they could do it. I think they could have if they had only been willing to raise more Hell than Sarah Palin and her friends.
