Two young people in traditional Bosnian attire
This really made my day yesterday, that and my favorite cabbie CONGRATULATED me! There is so much I will miss about Sarajevo and it's wonderful people. I have been very lucky to be here nearly a year.

Sorry to take so long. We have several holidays at this time in America where I am now. So many family members came to see me that I have hardly been here. Bosnia Hecegovina probably has the most varied traditional attre in all of Europe. these young people are wearing what is traditional in Sarajevo. In fact this is less elaborate, because neither of these outfits include actual gold emroidery, women's vests used to have a lot more gold. Sometimes both gold and silver. It takes a month of work T least to make one of those vests. So if you buy one, they cost $400 minimum. You might want to look at pictures on a site called 'BosnaFolk' The author does not allow re-use of his photos of old postcards or other illustrations. But the illustrations will give you a good idea of regional variations.
