This is something I wish I could find in the States, maybe you could get it on the East Coast, but I have never seen it in the West. Basically it is like a tube of tomato paste, you can use as little or as much as you need. If you are cooking for just one person that is a Real Plus!

Much more economical, slightly less convenient, to get one of the tins of paste I get in our local Turkish shop if you can find them. You have to be careful to keep them from growing fungus if you take too long to use them but the Italian who used to keep a shop round the corner gave me some useful advice - keep the surface exposed to the air covered with olive oil.

@Owen, fungi here are a big problem. I prefer the tube, I just don't eat all that much spaghetti, sometimes I get a wild craving for it, and I just want it to be easy and fast.
