actually it wasn't taken in front of a window, it was taken on the back porch, but too late in the day and the flash went off, I don't know how to disable the flash temporarily, so I was trying for natural light, which usually works, but it was overcast. I'll have another try later.
These digital malarkies are so fiddly compared with the old mechanical cameras. The mirror work looks good.

Well, I have to say that digital is convenient too, no running off to develope, or having to have a dark-room with all the nasty chemicals either, no carrying film, just have to have batteries and a decent memory card or two. So there are points in it's favor, I also like having the capacity to do short film clips, which one cannot do with the old type camera. To top it off, old school type cameras make it so that I need a scanner to put them on-line.
That said, you are right, better images do come from the old type cameras.
Some of the high-end digitals can do very well though.
