Romanian Priest gets 14 Years in Death of Nun in Strange Exorcism

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=437189&in_page_id=1811

It's too short a sentance, it should be 15 years, a year for every century to catch up to the 21st century.

Security Forces in Serbia Must be Purged in Order to Capture Mladić

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/19/europe/EU-GEN-Serbia-Mladic.php

I think that Serbia could make a far better case for hanging on to Kosovo if they'd catch
Mladić. I'm thinking though they feel so defeated on the Kosovo question that the element responsible for all Serbia's trouble are going to dig in their heels even more about Mladić.

Comments:
I should point out that exorcism is a thing done in both the Catholic and Anglican churches, but it isn't the dramatic production this was, and pretty certain the priest in this case didn't do a LEGITIMATE Orthodox exorcism.
A lot of the nasty exorcisms you read about in Africa are done by fringe groups who are not mainline Christians. Sometimes they are members of traditional tribal religions and not Christian at all.
Exorcism is not supposed to involve beatings or torments. In the Catholic church and in the Anglican church, it's really very sparingly applied. I don't know about the exact rite in the Orthodox church or how often it's done, but I am pretty sure that the official rite is not commonly applied and again, the priest who did this was acting without proper authority and did things very differently from what is SUPPOSED to happen. The priest and the other four nuns involved got into serious trouble with their superiors! I've kept track of this case and the poor nun involved may have suffered a mental illness such as schizophrenia.
In the Catholic church and in the Anglican church, when they do an exorcism they rule out mental illness, and recomend psychiatric treatment first.

the HTML thing messed me up, I'll just put something for copy and past, but I got curious as to the real doctrine about exorcism in the Orthodox Church, and it's not all that different from Catholic or Anglican practice. I also forgot to mention a key fact about exorcism, if you were baptized you had the Rite of Exorcism done as part of Baptism, but it isn't the same as the rite for people thought to be possessed.

@Owen, yes I think many parents who are dealing with ordinary naughty behavior, or even hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder do not know that their kids need medical attention and that they may need to parent differently than for a normal child, even a normal child that was 'full of the Devil'
I think too some child victims of exorcism are mentally ill, and the parents are ignorant about mental illness because they are going to some church that doesn't have a lot of contact with reality, something that may even be a cult.
I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject of cults, a lot of close friends of mine got involved with cults back in the '70s and '80s.
I think you are right that some 'exorcisms' are not really 'exorcisms' as such but human sacrifice, a concept not entirely gone, or we'd see damn well less of war.
