You should see the lednice on my place!
A few pretty important updates:
Seselj to be examined by independant medical team
http://www.focus-fen.net/?id=n100776
Ultras March on U.S. Embassy
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6202624.stm
those btw are not cheap signs..
Glavas in Hospital
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/12/02/europe/EU_GEN_Croatia_War_Crimes.php
What I said about Seselj goes for Glavas, this is a self destructive tactic.
Truck Hauling Weapons Siezed
http://www.focus-fen.net/?id=n100779
The truck was headed for Finland, o.k. so far as I know there isn't a Sami Liberation Army or anything, it's a dead cert those weapons were going to be dropped off someplace else.
Serbs call for compromise on Kosovo
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/12/02/europe/EU_GEN_Serbia_Kosovo.php
I would point out that partitions, and compromises usually later lead to war.
Ultras Blame U.S. for Seselj Hunger Strike
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061202/wl_nm/serbia_protest_dc
Now just a cotton pickin minute here, Seselj is not imprisoned in vile conditions, no one is torturing him. Until he went to the hospital, he was among friends. No one held a gun to his head and said to go on hunger strike. It's not like he was Gandhi, or even Bobby Sands.

What is going to cuase another war is if in fact Kosovo becomes an indepdant state!
I say this only because Islamic terrorists will use this newly found state to come into and abuse the rights of the citizens.
I for one would have no problem fighting against an Islamic run Kosovo. Islam and the way it promotes terrorism is bad for the world.

Judgeing from the hour and the tone of this comment, you had a bad day, followed by time spent with a bottle of rakija.
I do not begrudge a hard working man his rakija but maybe in front of one's computer is not the best place to enjoy one's rakija.
The timely nature of the U.S. intervention in Kosovo went a long way to prevent the kind of situation that Islamic terrorists like.
Even in Bosnia, where they had a presence, they really haven't made much headway for that matter.
The correct oversight of both those places should prevent Islamic terrorists from making much of a dent there.
We have more to worry about from Russia, Putin really wants the glory days of the old Soviet Union back, and I consider it very ominous about the radioactive sushi, and shooting journalists in their own apartment buildings.
That too is terrorism, state sponsored to boot.

Havala!
I was actually pleased you published this comment of mine. I thought you would ignore it based on my negative tone towards Islam.
I've been having a bad month actually:) For the record I'm against an indpendance Kosovo simply because of this current war on Islamic terror. I did a post about this but no one had an opinion so I can only surmise its a fifty-fifty draw????
As far a Russia goes, yes, there have been some serious concerns there the past few months. My gut is telling me that Russia and America will eventually merge as good friends in the next few years. I really love Russia and her people. If our government was smart they would wise to the notion that Russia would be a good partner in this war on terror. Kind of like the lesser of two evils, so to speak. With Putin leaving soon, who knows what will happen though. I wish for the best though!
Thanks,
John

John, usually no matter how you say something, or what you say, there is usually at least some point where discussion is possible. That is why your comments get in.
I have to say I have my misgivings about an independant Kosovo, but the misgivings I have are more to do with Serbian reaction in BiH than with Islamic terrorists.
There was no mujahadin presence in Kosovo, there was some in BiH, but the Bosnians realized that these guys weren't good fighters, and they committed attrocities.
Sept 11. gave the Bosnians a much desired reason to send these guys out of their country. Their remaining numbers were something like 700-300, and they were a disruptive element.
About Russia, I am far from being anti-Russian. I have great distrust of the current ruler who is an old KGB. I feel very bad that the Russians ended up moving from Communism to Kleptocracy instead of from Communism to Democracy.
Actually if the United States as a country could not render aid to Russia in terms of becoming more democratic, we should at least not have taken down the government they had, for a number of reasons.
The former government bad as it was, it kept the Kleptocracy from power, and it sat on Central Asia.
It was a bad thing to intervene in Afghanistan, or to give arms to various groups in Central Asia.
The people the U.S. gave help to became the Taliban, and had the Taliban formed despite a strong Soviet Union, at least we'd have had a strong ally.
I hope Russia gets a better leader than Putin. They deserve someone who isn't a poisoner and an old KGB.
