Election Results

But I presume my Gentle Readers can read numbers! :)

Thanks to Shaina of Bosnia Vault, for calling my attention to a source of final results, this is a vote count for the Croatian member of the Presidency and yes it looks like Željko Komšić is indeed the Croat member of the Presidency. This is a good thing, better if there's more support for a unified Bosnia Hercegovina. With that kind of count, it means that he had to have had Croats vote for him. There was a lot of buzz that Željko Komšić got a lot of Muslim votes.

Couple in Zagreb Kidnaps Woman to Have Child For Them

http://iafrica.com/news/worldnews/238480.htm

This made me want to bitch slap both of them! The man for decieving a young girl in this fashion, the wife for being in on it, and yes maybe even the girl a little for believing the man. He did admit to being married. The couple, both the man and wife did not behave as civilized people. There are little Croat children who need families, why did they not adopt one? Now this girl can't marry a nice boy from her own country. She'll probably have a sad life after this and need massive therapy.

Sometimes I think God knows who not to send a child to. These people must be very possesive and greedy to have tried to solve this that way. Better to be born into the most abject poverty than to be born into a situation of such greed.

I have been following the stories of school shootings and torture of girls. These stories make me really angry. One of them, the man raped most of the girls he held in captivity before he was shot or committed suicide, I forget which, the other the guy who shot the Amish girls in Pennsylvania makes me angry too. The man was said to be 'angry with God' So why does he shoot girls if his problem is with God anyway? Of course he's a nut case, so there is no explaination worthy of the name.

I've been really fed up with people with dangerous mental problems only getting drugs, and being out there to perhaps not take their drugs and not to have anyone to talk to.
Dealing with mental illness requires both and sometimes could require in patient care. If a person is not taking their medications, then they don't just risk themselves, others are at risk too. I am a strong believer in people having someone to talk to as well. Everyone loses when all the pieces are not in place.
There used to be less of this sort of thing. I feel sorry for everyone involved in these horrible situations.

I was not going to comment on the Foley scandal at all. I will for once though, Foley was a sick character and I doubt he never tried anything with a young person, these e-mails IMs or what ever are a sort of stage in that behavior.
Alcholism alone doesn't explain it.
I have to say it doesn't surprise me, people in politics are not the nicest people. No one decent wants to be in politics and have relatively minor things exposed and be available for character assasination. So we get left with people who have real flaws, serious ones.
At least Clinton did his stuff with people who were adults.

O.K. updates to the guy who killed those little Amish girls, it turns out he molested some girls when he was 20. He should really have been shot then. He was planning something evil with those poor girls. Anyway I hope he rots in Hell. I feel sorry for his family and more sorry for the families of the girls.
Foley says he was abused as a kid.
Question, for 20 years we've known it's 'not the kid's fault' and to go get help! So why didn't they? oooooj no they just go wreck other people's lives what 20 years down the road. That stinks!

Comments:
Dear Yakima, let me tell you, although one does not speak about that, I am Croat and I voted for Željko Komšić and I am proud of that. And I know at leat 5 more Croats here in Sarajevo who voted for him, not to say 50 or 500 hundred. So all the stories are just political mist!

Re: The Pennsylvania shooter.

Apparently he molested female relatives 20 years ago; and that may have been one of the contributing factors for his targeting of female children in this case.
There is some evidence that he planned on molesting the girls; as he had some KY Jelly with him. (disgusting-I know)
There is no evidence that any of the girls were molested before being shot though.
(I wonder how much of the crime was a copycat crime from the Colorado shooting? Where the girls were also molested, and then one was killed.)

I know that stricter gun control won't make the streets completely safe; and there is no way to end all crimes. But, I can't help but feel that stricter gun control and limited access to guns would at least make it more difficult for these types of massacres to take place.

Of course, more than just gun control is needed.
In the Wisconsin case, it was revealed on CNN that the young man was recommened for both psychiatric counseling as well as medication; but because his family couldn't afford the treatment-he didn't get any.
That is just wrong.
Mental illness and depression are real illnesses, and should be treated as real illnesses. Your ability to recieve the treatment that you need shouldn't be based upon your ability to pay.
Of course, we don't have universal health care; and it is hard enough for the poor to access health care for "regular" physical problems.

I hope that the media respects the privacy and culture of the Amish; and allows them to grieve in private.
My prayers are with everyone involved.

Hi Yakima

About the elections for the members of the presidency in Bosnia, if it is true that zeljko komsic was elected for the croat part, does it mean that the croats voted for him or not?
I dont know if it is possible for a bosnjak to vote for a croat in the elections.
I now that Komsic is a moderate croat, what about all western media, they always say that croats are the more extremists and now they elected a moderate leader, I dont understand.
Waiting for your comments

Greeting from Chile

PS Sorry if you didnt understand, my english is very poor.

Dear Aljejandro Hola! your English is just fine! see the first comment, yes there were Croats who voted for him. I think he could never have gotten that lead if only Bosniaks voted for him. HDZ had two candidates, which is a sign that their 'party discipline' is poor. People cross ethnic lines in voteing in BiH but not all that often in this type of election. I do think a lot of Croats want a more moderate leadership.

On the question of the Pennsylvania shootings, apparently the perpetrator was interupted in his evil designs. There is mental illness and then there is evil, I think this man crossed the line.
What I don't get is how his deeds before were not found out sooner. Maybe the ages of the previous victims played a part. Also I heard the perpetrator and his wife had a girl baby that died. Could he have felt some sort of guilt about that? Could he have felt responsible in some way? Could he have actually been responsible in some way.
It looks like the Amish are manageing the reporters just fine.
I have always had a lot of respect for the Amish. They are really a modern survival of the Bosnian Christians, aka Bogomils. The plain dress and not meeting in actual church edifices are some of the cultural survivals that can be traced right back to Bosnia itself.
The reporters are trying to get information, but not so many are giving it, because the reporters can't record on film or tape. One thing abut the Amish is they are not in favor of advanced technology.
