And Orhan Pamuk, a great writer from Turkey wins the Nobel Prize for Literature for his book 'The White Castle'
I have not read this book, but if it is anything like 'My Name is Red' I have to read it!
and a couple things just for laughs...well maybe not the first of the last ... it distresses me because one incidence of religious heavy handedness can undo all the good of the hard work and decency of a man like Mr. Zontek!

Thanks for the news on Pamuk.
I haven't read "The White Castle" or, "My Name is Red" But, I have read his memoir about growing up in Instanbul, and it was really good.
It combined personal memoir with historical, cultural and literary observations and history.

no it was Gere alright, because if the insurance company had been scared, the film company would not have ever even been in Sarajevo or anyplace near it.
Word to insurance companies...listen up real good, Croatia has landmines too! Just in different places!

Here's the thing Owen, for the most part Sarajevo is safe, yes there are areas of land-mines but mostly people know where the land-mines are and just stay out of those areas. Any competant advance crew would set things up for perfect safety.

Sarajevo is just as safe as New York...probably even safer.
Richard is a coward and I'd like to call him one to his face. In fact, I'm going to boycott every film he makes. I may watch the one in question though, just so that I can laugh at him. But after that, I'm done with him and his movies forever.
