OOOJ JEBIGA! North Koreans Test Nuclear Device

This is NOT welcome news, just heard on Fox News on K.I.T. that the North Koreans conducted an underground test of a nuclear device.

I am not happy to hear this. They are definately taking advantage of the fact the U.S. is seriously tied down in Iraq.

People should just in case take kelp tablets two or three usually are sufficient, just in case there is Strontium 90 floating around out there.

Comments:
Not good news at all.
The biggest problem is that there seems to be no good solutions on how to solve this problem.

On the one hand we have "The Dear Leader" who for years has been running a Stalinist dictatorship and starving and executing his people. I would doubt that he would ever hessitate on "sacrificing" a few thousands (or more) North Koreans to make a point.

Speaking of making a point-what exactly was his point by testing a nuclear device?
To assert leverage for a negotiation?
For national pride?
To force the international community to take N.K. as a serious power?
To force the IC to conduct sanctions against N.K?
To anger China?

If there is a rapid regime change-it would make Iraq and Vietnam seem like child's play.
First there would be a humanitarian crisis of astronomical proportions.
Secondly, there is the possibility of millions of people finding refuge in China-and the effect that would have on Chinese stability.

The best scenario would seemengly be very gradual regime change, along with continuing to give humanitarian food to the North Korean people.
But any regime change by force, or rapid regime change (i.e. Iraq) will surely backfire horribly.

In my opinion, the most alarming aspect of the N.K. nuclear test is the possibility that they might sell their weapons to the highest bidder.
If N.K. feels as if it has nothing to lose, they could very well sell their weapons to rogue organizations.
Althoughto be honest, I'm not sure how much of a probability that would be since that would mean really, really, bad news for North Korea-with very grave consequences.
