Albanian American men arrested in Montenegro
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/breaking_news/15761321.htm
Incidentally all the guys have names that are Christian.
About 10% of Albanians are Christian, most of the Christian Albanians are Catholic and there are some Orthodox believers among the Albanians as well. While one might question the wisdom of having attended a demostration in a foreign country where human rights need work, it's hardly terrorism!

What?!! Catholic terrorists?! You just revealed your prejudice in expecting them to be Muslims. You fell for the false notion that a terrorist is a Muslim. Serb propaganda (currently spearheaded by Church leaders) is quite skilled in making terrorists out of its political enemies. Milo just picked a page from that book knowing well that uninformed readers wouldn't question.
It's so easy to understand the world on religious terms that most readers don't bother to go beyond that. That's why across the world political dissidents are increasingly being labeled terrorists. It looks well in the Western media, which is anybody that could question those regimes.
A good blog from somebody familiar with the arrests.

Warchild, I needed to mention that these guys had Christian names because 1. in this country all accusations of terror these days are to Muslims, even though we in America have home grown fascist terrorists occasionally active. Most Americans aren't going to know whether an Albanian given name is a Christian name or not, because it's spelled differently and pronounced differently.
2. Since statistically Albanians are more likely to be Muslim, it's pretty normal to expect that just by the numbers the victims of such accusations, so I was surprised for that reason. Look, I'm about a quarter Irish on my mother's side of the family tree, I speak and read the Irish language, and there have been some Catholic terrorists among the Irish, some of whom were people I've known and met. I do not assume these poor men were terrorists. They've been hung for a lamb not a sheep, they obviously had problems tied to the milicija.
3. Maybe you are showing a predjudice in taking what I said wrong! In assuming that I'm automatically going to assume that all terrorists are Muslim!
If you want predjudice, I couild name some other places for you to read, if anything I have a predjudice against the the willfully ignorant members of my own faith.
It's actually not all that easy to understand the world on religious terms. If it were that easy, maybe people would do a better job of living by their own religions before they went to convert others.
I appreciate your placing this link from someone who knows the case, because since the arrest there hasn't been a lot of news out there.
Thank you.

Since then I've taken the opportunity to look at that blog, and it is very good, and informative. I will become a regular reader.
Yakima,
I know you try, that's why I bothered commenting. Ultimately we are shaped by the societies we live in and the media that surrounds us. Albanians are Muslim more than any other faith but the mere fact that religion is mentioned as a footnote to any topic about a people tells you something. Imagine talking about Ireland and mentioning that they are Catholics - that's so 19th century.
In response to this "us vs. them" in the West among some Muslim Albanians there is guilt and they try to disown their "Muslim" identity because Europe doesn't like it. For them, Catholicm, "the religion of our forefathers" is the better choice. Little do they know (or can't accept for obvious reasons) that Orthodoxy had actually a stronger following among Albanians and until recently Catholicm was the backward religion of choice in Europe. Europe has never said that it doesn't like Muslim Albania or Kosovo, but I think you get the idea that it's quite tough being a Muslim these days.
Take care!

@ Warchild, it IS tough being Muslim,
It's a misunderstood religion, and this is a stupid era.
Even looking like you MIGHT be Muslim can be hard.
As someone who observes the real Christian dress code I get a lot of it! And I refuse to back down! :)
