I wonder what good even this high sentence is when you consider that he was cleared of genocide charges.

Kosovo Solution Needs to Avoid War

http://www.nasdaq.com/aspxcontent/NewsStory.aspx?cpath=20060925\ACQDJON200609250918DOWJONESDJONLINE000301.htm&selected=9999&selecteddisplaysymbol=9999&StoryTargetFrame=_top&mkt=WORLD&chk=unchecked&lang=&link=&headlinereturnpage=http://www.international.na

The main reason the solution to Kosovo is problematic is the attitude that it can be used as a cause of war, it's very easy for politicians to use these sorts of things to stir people up and it is equally easy for them to talk in s
uch a way that it doesn't upset people so much. Mr. Drašković might want to think about that.

Comments:
Goodness! I'd hate to imagine that region descending into war again. What a tragedy that would be.

And where are you living these days Katja?

Draskovic is trying to spread fear with his war drums. Although it's not his first, this time people are tired of war and eager to move on. I'm betting my money that transition to independence will be effortless.

He's also mixing up the the temporal and the spiritual, precisely the thing that makes Serb church an instrument of Serb claims to Kosovo. Albanians never laid claim to the spiritual Kosovo so that argument is moot.

@ daerice, pictorial evidence that I'm still serving out my Article 58^see above!
@warchild, the area I'm concerned could get out of hand is not so much Kosovo as Republika Srrpska. Some people there seem to really MISS the war.
