Ordinary people can't stop this stuff, it requires the organized power at a State level. It doesn't take power at a State level to commit this sort of atrocity, but it does take that level of power to stop it. I feel absolutely horrible about what is going on in Lebanon, on the one hand I am NO fan of Hezbollah they are thugs, and now they are well armed thugs, but the Israeli response is disproportionate.
Incidentally the Israelis are fond of saying these guys are in the middle of civilian populations, they should know, they used to keep their weapons in their collective farms, in the midst of civilians, women and children too.
War is bad enough but no one bothers following proper rules of war anymore, it is total war and it's all 'let's just kill them all and take their stuff', sometimes it's 'let's just kill them all and break their stuff'

I remember watching the "A Cry From The Grave" video for the first time, and being shocked, not only at the atrocities shown but at the fact that the event was actually captured on tape.
